Sweetest Day is October 20th!  Bella Ink has this cousin to Valentine's Day on the calendar because, according to Wikipedia, Sweetest Day is generally celebrated around The Great Lakes more than anywhere else in the country.  (We're based just outside of Chicago, Illinois)

Sweetest Day is not about showering gifts on your significant other, although we don't suggest ignoring them on this day.  (At least send them a note with a carnation like you used to do in high school.)  Sweetest Day, according to The Retail Confectioners International, is an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed."  (If the wording seems a bit odd, remember this holiday started in the 1920s)

Although Bella Ink believes we should celebrate kindnesses and pay them forward on a daily basis, we acknowledge that in our busy schedules we don't always remember to recognize the little things that others do for us, so if we need a reminder to pop up on Smartphones every so often, so be it.
